Hoboken Cricket Club Lost by 3 wickets
I won the toss. I always win the toss. I decided to bat even though the skies were overcast and the ball would probably swing. We started amazingly. Sahil does not like running (although you've never seen anyone whip the bails off quicker and with more precision in your life. You have more chance of seeing a camelion's tongue) and Nikhil (who does like running) never gets the chance because when he even looks at the ball it flys over the ropes, often to never been seen again.
But in the end this was all about me - sticking around for longer than I did all last season for a carefully accumulated and crafted 7 so that our number 11 could get there and bat.
Inspired bowling changes (it IS all about me) lead to some good early wickets but unfortunately (it is all sadly still about me) spoiling my second catch led to a rash of mistakes in the field, silly extras (although there was a good deal of partisan umpiring in the way too) and the game slipped away which it might not have done if we'd have had a better target to defend.
